Short Term
The Short-Term mission movement is one of God's greatest means to accomplishing the Great Commission in the 21st Century.
Short-term mission teams have traveled to countries in Europe, India, Central Asia, several small Islands in the Caribbean, Mexico, Africa, and several inner City locations in the USA including Chicago and Louisiana.
The purpose of Short Term Mission's at BPEFC is three fold:
- It is a front line involvement for our church to come along side of Missionaries, Nationals or a culture, with people and resources to help establish, disciple and encourage the local church within that culture.
- It is a group opportunity for discipleship. While accomplishing many eternal things for the kingdom of God, the team experience provides a vehicle for God given gifts and talents to emerge.
- It heightens the awareness of missions within the entire congregation and allows them the opportunity to be involved by going, sending, and praying.
Harold Skovmand, a missionary and pastor of a small church on the Island of Canouan we used to partner with, said this to a team from BPEFC. He said - "
This team has accomplished in seven days what would have taken me five months. Please tell the church if they choose between money and people, send the people".
