Team Information
Be a part of an exciting ministry that...
"...exists to provide a safe, fun environment, where kids can come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Best Friend, grow in their relationship with Him and boldly share their faith with others!"
Don't allow this opportunity to pass you by... if you have a love for Jesus and kids, we'll teach you everything else you need to know!
TEAM MEMBER POLICY The Children's Ministries Director will select team members for the Kids' ZONE from the regular attendees of the BPEFC community, i.e. in attendance for a minimum of six months. Exceptions can only be made by the Children's Ministries Director. (For example, a person may be considered if they came highly recommended by a regular attendee who has known them for a period of time).
Current members of the Kids' ZONE Ministry Team are welcome to suggest people to the Children's Ministries Director to be possible team members.
All Kids' ZONE applicants will be asked to complete an application and background check form as well as meet with the Children's Ministries Director, (or their designee).
The Children's Ministries Director will consider each person based on personal recommendation, previous ministry performance and/or contents of the application and background checks. If the background check comes back without issue, completion of background checks for the next three to five years may be waived, at the discretion of the Children's Ministries Director.
All team members will attend worship services on a regular basis.
Our goal is to meet the established adult/child criteria per ministry area:
- 1 adult or certified youth* for every 12 children in Grades 1-6
- 1 adult or certified youth* for every 6 children 2+ Years of Age and over
- 1 adult or certified youth* for every 3 toddlers 1-2 Years of Age and over
- 1 adult or certified youth* for every 2 infants (birth- 1 Year of Age)
* Successfully completed the Leaders in Training (L.I. T.) program. The L.I.T. Program is for kids in 5th and 6th Graders who are interested in working with the toddlers in the nursery or in a pre-school classroom.
The team members will be both women and men. An attempt will be made not to have men assigned to work alone in the nursery without a woman. Small Group Leaders will be assigned according to gender.
All teachers and assistants will be at least 18 years of age. If someone younger than 18 expresses a desire to work with the children, they can apply for the Leaders in Training program through the Children's Ministries Director.
All team members will be able to safely and independently transport and/or evacuate children.
In order to give the regular Sunday Team Members a break, parents of each child will be asked to fill in two-three Sundays per summer months.
All ministry team members are asked to make a commitment of being a part of the Sunday Morning Team for the nine month school year.
If questions or issues arise, contact the Children's Ministries Director at the Church Office, at 763-391-6140, ext. 27.
