History

"Our Heritage"

June 1956 – A small group of members gathered to pray about beginning a new church. Not long after, they met in the old Willow Lane School for the first worship service and Sunday School. There were 22 original charter members.

October 1956 – Ground was broken for the first building of 69th and Quail in Brooklyn Center , which previously had been the home site of the first church chairman.

April 1968 – Ground was broken for a new auditorium, fellowship hall and Sunday School rooms, which were to be added to the existing facility along with several improvements in the old building. The facility was dedicated in December 1968.

1978 – The church purchased ten acres of land in a strategic location on West Broadway Avenue in Brooklyn Park as a future building site.

1983 – The building at 69th and Quail was sold and construction on a new building began in November. We moved to our present location in August 1984.

June 1988 – Pastor Rick Ensrud became our Senior Pastor.

August 15, 1996 – Our current facility was gutted by a fire. During the time of reconstruction and adding of office space we met at the Osseo High School . We returned to our refurbished facility in June 1998.

April 2003 – Ground was broken for a new sanctuary.

November 2003 – Our new sanctuary was completed and we held our first service there on Thanksgiving Eve. The sanctuary was dedicated in December 2003.
